Plastering and Rendering Across Yorkshire and Lancashire
Quick answer
Do you handle both small re-plasters and full-house jobs?
Yes. RM Lee takes on everything from a single-room re-skim to a complete full-house re-plaster, plus external rendering. We work across Yorkshire and Lancashire at competitive prices, and every wall is left flat, sound and ready to decorate.
Tired walls, blown plaster and patchy repairs make a whole room feel neglected, and no amount of fresh paint hides an uneven surface. RM Lee puts that right with clean, flat, professional plastering, from a single-room skim over sound plaster to a full-house re-plaster back to bare brick, plus external rendering that protects and smartens the outside of your property. We cover Yorkshire and Lancashire, keep our prices competitive, and leave every surface ready for you to decorate.
- Flat, paint-ready walls with no patches, ridges or trowel marks
- One trade for interior skimming, full re-plastering and external render
- Competitive fixed pricing across Yorkshire and Lancashire
- Clean, protected work areas and a full tidy-up when we finish

The process
How this job actually runs
01
Assess and quote
We look at the walls, check what is sound and what needs stripping back, and give you a clear competitive price with no surprises.
02
Prepare and protect
Floors and fittings are covered, old blown plaster is removed, and surfaces are cleaned and treated so the new plaster bonds properly.
03
Plaster or render
We apply the right system for the job, whether that is a bonding and skim coat inside or a sand-and-cement scratch and top coat outside.
04
Finish and clear away
Walls are polished flat to a paint-ready finish, and we tidy up fully so you are left with a clean room, not a mess.

Questions
Plastering & Rendering FAQs
Prices vary with the size and condition of the walls, but as a rough guide a single-room re-skim over sound plaster typically runs from around 250 to 500 pounds, a full room stripped and re-plastered from around 500 to 900 pounds, and full-house re-plasters are priced per property after a look. We keep our pricing competitive across Yorkshire and Lancashire and give you a clear figure before any work starts.
Yes. We are based in Hebden Bridge and work right across Yorkshire and Lancashire for both plastering and rendering. Call 07532 272727 and we will confirm we cover your area.
Both. We take on a single blown wall or one small ceiling with the same care as a complete full-house re-plaster. No job is too small.
Fresh plaster usually needs to dry out fully before painting, which is commonly around three to seven days for a skim coat depending on the weather, ventilation and how thick the plaster is. Backing coats and re-plastered walls back to brick can take longer. We will tell you what to expect for your specific job and advise on a breathable mist coat for the first paint.
Skimming is a thin two-millimetre finish coat applied over plaster that is still sound, giving a smooth new surface quickly. Re-plastering means removing the old failed plaster and building the wall back up with a bonding or browning undercoat before the skim. We recommend whichever is right once we have seen the walls.
Yes. We regularly re-plaster after damp treatment, new electrics or plumbing, extensions and structural work. Where a job follows damp-proofing, we use the correct salt-resistant backing so hygroscopic salts do not spoil the new finish.
It helps if furniture and belongings are moved out or into the centre where possible, but we bring dust sheets and cover floors and any remaining fittings before we start. Just let us know if access or clearing is an issue.
For many Pennine properties a traditional sand-and-cement render applied in a scratch coat and top coat is durable and cost-effective. Where the wall calls for something more flexible we can advise on modern renders. The right choice depends on the substrate and the exposure of the wall.
Yes. We polish internal plaster flat to a paint-ready finish with no ridges, hollows or trowel marks, so once it has dried you can decorate straight over it after a mist coat.
